Our Legal Fees
Our Legal Fees (UK Immigration)
We provide professional expert advice in immigration law with a competitive fee structure and flexible payment terms for all our clients. If you cannot afford to pay our fee in full at the time of your instructions, we are happy to accept half of the agreed fee at the time of initial instructions with the outstanding balance to be paid over a set period. We are flexible with the time depending on individual circumstances.
Our agreed fee covers all the work until we receive a written decision for the stage of the application or appeal for which you have instructed us. Please be advised that having agreed to a fixed fee, if you withdraw your instructions, we will not issue a refund for work that has already been carried out.
Moreover, our fees for all immigration matters are based on agreed rates except for Judicial Review matters and appeal to the Court of Appeal where we charge on an hourly basis depending on the Solicitors’ PQE. Details of hourly rates in JR matters are provided below. We take 50% of the fee in all matters in advance at the time of engagement of our services. Remaining fees will be payable before submitting the applications/appeal to the home office or appellate authorities or agreed with clients.
What is the fixed fee for a UK visa and immigration matters?
A Fixed Fee Arrangement is an alternative to the standard hourly rate used by immigration solicitors with a fixed price for each stage of legal work. The agreed fixed fee is not dictated by the time spent on the case. The agreed fixed fee gives certainty of legal costs and thus enables you to budget for your lawyer’s fees for UK visa and immigration matters.
Our agreed fixed fee for UK visa and immigration cases covers all the work until we receive a written decision for the stage of the immigration matter for which you have instructed us. Please be advised that our agreed fixed fee does not cover the third-party charges e.g. Home Office UKVI fees, court fees or Barrister's fees. We charge affordable fixed fees with an option to pay by instalments (if fixed fee is in excess of £2,000).
Application Processing Time
On average Home Office (UKVI) takes around 3-6 months to process a visa application. We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application and we would refer you to the Home Office’s current standards and processing times.
Once we have taken your instructions, and received your Full supporting documents and Fees, we will be able to submit your application to the Home Office as quickly as possible. The time it takes will be subject to how quickly all relevant information and documentation takes to collate. If there is a deadline by which you require an application to be submitted, then we would work with you to complete it and ensure it is submitted in time.

Our fees for motoring Work -Summary Offences
Our fees for a typical motoring summary offence are based on hourly rates and time spent and vary within a range depending on the facts and complexity of the case and the solicitor dealing with your matter.
In the event of you requiring us to argue ‘exceptional hardship’ or ‘special reasons’ on your behalf at your first hearing, our fee will usually be in the range of £1200.00 to £3600.00 including VAT.
In the event of entering not guilty pleas at your first hearing and your case proceeding to trial, our fees for providing a consultation, litigation and advocacy our fee will usually be in the range of £1200.00 to £3600.00 including VAT
Disbursements - Summary Offences
In addition to our own fees, you may incur disbursement costs. These are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties.
The disbursements which might typically apply in a motoring case and the likely amount of them should they be incurred are as follows:-
The only likely disbursement would be the fees of Counsel if Counsel is to be instructed. We will discuss choice of Counsel and their likely fees before Counsel is instructed.
Counsel’s fees are estimated at between £900.00 to £3,500.00 per day (including VAT which is usually but not always attracted depending on the experience of the advocate) for attending a Court Hearing (including preparation).
If a hearing lasts for more than one day, Counsels fee for the first day is usually higher than the fee for subsequent days, as the first day incorporates the fee for the preparation time.
Work We Will Do
Our fees mentioned above cover:-
- Up to 2 hours attendance/preparation
- Considering evidence
- Taking your instructions
- Providing advice on likely sentence
- Our attendance and representation at a single hearing at the Magistrates’ Court
If you plead not guilty and are acquitted, we can ask the court to consider making an order that some of your costs can be recovered from central funds. Reduced rates may be available depending on your means. Please feel free to contact us to discuss.
Additional Costs
The fees mentioned above do not include:
- The costs of attending any second hearing if for any reason the matter is not disposed of at a first hearing.
- Instruction of any expert witnesses
- Taking statements from any witnesses
- Advice and assistance in relation to a special reasons hearing
- Advice or assistance in relation to any appeal
- Travel to anywhere other than our local courts
Should any of this additional work be required, it will be charged at our hourly rates (see the rates applicable to individual lawyers set out in our table of personnel at the foot of this document) and we will provide you with a revised costs estimate at the earliest possible opportunity.
Timescales
The period of time a motoring matter will take will depend on the type of application.
It can be quicker or slower, depending on your personal or any exceptional circumstances.
Stages of the process
The precise stages involved in a motoring matter will vary according to the application and circumstances.
However, below we have suggested some key stages that you may wish to take into consideration:
- Obtaining Relevant Information from you
- Providing legal advice on the relevant law and merits of your application
Our professional fees are inclusive of VAT, we will charge VAT where applicable.

Hourly Charges
We charge hourly basis for these matters JR, permission to appeal to the Court of Appeal and appeal to the Court of Appeal. Our hourly fees will be calculated using the below hourly rates plus VAT (where applicable) and will depend on the level of experience of the solicitor or Fee earner dealing with your matter and the complexity of the matter.
Details of the hourly rates are as under:
- Hourly Rate of Solicitor over 8-year experience: £282.00
- Hourly Rate of Solicitor over 4-year experience: £200
- Hourly Rate of Paralegal and other staff £121
However, we are happy to discuss our Fee estimates and hourly rates with you to give a closer estimate of the likely costs bearing in mind the level and complexity of your case. Our above Fees include VAT which is charged at 20% where applicable.
The exact number of hours it will take depends on the circumstances in your case such as:
- The complexity of your matter
- The amount of supporting evidence that we need to consider
- The language(s) you speak
- Whether you are applying with other dependants
If you are able to provide sufficient and concise evidence at our first meeting and clearly meet the applicable Immigration Rules, the legal costs are likely to be at the lower end of the costs estimate.
We will of course be happy to provide you with an estimate of fees and disbursements on the above work on request.
Disbursements
Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties, such as Home Office fees. This is not including our hourly or Agreed fees. We handle the payment of the disbursements on your behalf to ensure a smoother process.
These can include but not limited to:
- Home Office immigration and nationality application fees – See the latest visa fees
- Home Office Immigration Health surcharge: This is an additional fee levied to pay the NHS.
- Interpreter fees: usually charged at £20-£25 per hour. The time needed will depend on the complexity of your case. Let it be known, however, that our firm is fortunate to have staff that are well-versed in multiple languages, so interpreters may not be needed, and we will only seek an interpreter when necessary.
- Independent expert reports: may include but are not limited to medical specialists, social workers, and country experts. These are not required in many cases, and we will let you know as soon as possible if we consider an expert report necessary.
- Interpreter services provided by third-party organisations.
